Double Opening of the Exhibition “Circuits” by Mariechen Danz in Dresden

Dresden, April 2026 – With “Circuits,” the Kunstverein Dresden presents the first exhibition by internationally renowned artist Mariechen Danz at the institution. In her work, Danz explores the complex interplay between the body, technology, and systems of knowledge. The exhibition is organized in cooperation with the Galerie der Kustodie in the Görges Building at Technische Universität Dresden and will open at two locations on the same day, at staggered times.

At the center of Danz’s artistic practice are sculptural and installation-based works that enter into a multilayered dialogue with historical machines, scientific models, and collection objects from university teaching and research contexts. The presentation is further complemented by loans from the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden. Together, these constellations open up new perspectives on the material infrastructures of scientific knowledge and illuminate the interrelations between technical apparatuses and social conceptions of the human body.

The exhibition “Circuits” marks a premiere for the Kunstverein Dresden and is the result of a close collaboration with TU Dresden. The cooperation was initiated by Gwendolin Felicitas Kremer, curator and member of the Kunstverein’s artistic advisory board.

The ceremonial double opening will take place on 24 April 2026: at 5:00 p.m. at the Galerie der Kustodie in the Görges Building at TU Dresden, Helmholtzstraße 9, and at 8:00 p.m. at the Kunstverein Dresden, Neustädter Markt 8.

An extensive accompanying program will accompany the exhibition and will be announced shortly.
